De motie luidde\u00a0als volgt: \u2018constaterende dat de verplichting van led-verlichting in de dienstensector 0,9 megaton CO2-winst kan opleveren; overwegende dat de aanschaf van ledverlichting door een lagere energierekening zich op termijn terugverdient; verzoekt de regering, bedrijven te verplichten uiterlijk 1 juli 2020 uitsluitend ledverlichting te gebruiken; verzoekt de regering tevens om het goede voorbeeld te stellen door zelf ook over te stappen naar led-verlichting in haar gebouwen en installaties, en gaat over tot de orde van de dag.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Staatsrechtelijk gezien kan het kabinet een aangenomen motie naast zich neerleggen, maar gezien de brede steun uit de Tweede Kamer is dit niet heel waarschijnlijk: 95 Kamerleden stemden voor de motie en 55 leden stemden tegen de motie. De tegenstemmers waren afkomstig uit 3 fracties, waarbij wel 1 regeringspartij tegenstemde.
